  1. Alas, the poll appears to be closed at this moment. I would like to see more on the rise of mainframes. Also, I have some interest in video formats, since I was a VCR technician, way back when. I was factory trained on Sony Beta and 8mm video systems, and recall that there were some commercially released material in 8mm video format, sometime in the 1980s. Also, in the late 1970s, I saw color 1" format open-reel video tape of commercial movies, distributed to Navy ships, with movies on Beta and 16mm film prints.

    1. The poll closed this morning, but I shall reopen it with updated options soon. I'll also maintain a list of options that will get cycled into the poll for voting. Thanks for commenting!

  2. Sorry I've been slow to comment on the first two great installments of your series, but I am enjoying it!

For my book I spoke to a typewriter and pinball fan who lives in SF and who was very articulate on the need to get back in touch with our bodies and the physical world.

An idea for your series: digital watches, from the Casios of the '70s (I had one and was mesmerized by it) to the Apple Watch (which apparently will know way to much about me -- no thanks).

As for the typewriter showdown ... watch out! You think that little Royal can handle the competition? Dream on! ;)

  3. Hi

Es gefällt mir ausgesprochen gut! Das ist mir zum größten Teil noch neu. Ich habe ein Waxing Studio in Frankfurt.
